Wavex® is a virtual sensor designed for wave and current measurements using data from standard marine X-band radars. The sensor is operative at all ship speeds as well as from fixed locations. Additionally, Speed Through Water by Wavex accurately provides a vessel’s STW without the use of any submerged equipment.

The Miros RangeFinder is a high-frequency vertical microwave radar providing sea level, tide, non-directional wave monitoring, ride control and air gap measurements. The measurement principle provides accurate measurements undisturbed by fog, precipitation and water spray (unlike laser sensors).

Miros Oil Spill Detection system

The Miros Oil Spill Detection system provides continuous oil spill monitoring of high risk areas and is operable down to -30 °C. Because Miros OSD is a remote sensing system, it minimizes the risk of being damaged by harsh environments, such as the cold in the Arctic. The system automatically generates alarms based on oil spill detection and each individual slick is characterised according to area and drift.

Thanks to its capacity to raise alarms promptly, the Miros Oil Spill Detection System is able to dedicate more time to the characterisation of spills and the initiation of appropriate responses. Since Miros OSD is equipped with infrared cameras, the operation can continue in poor visibility, or even at night. Today, more than 190 Miros OSD systems have been worldwide.

Miros ICE

The Miros ICE system is designed to aid a vessel navigator or offshore installation
operator with identifying and evaluating ice features on the sea surface. The system
processes radar images from a standard X-band radar and shows them alongside
vessel conning information and AIS targets.

Essential for:
• Vessels and installations operating in icy waters.
• En route navigation aid
• Collision avoidance

Miros can deliver the system with IR/lowlight cameras. The system display includes
integrated camera control. This enables the system operator to evaluate ice features in
more detail than what is possible using radar alone, laying the foundation for improved
