About Induction bending and heat treatment

NIRAS is a leader in the field of induction bending. Induction bending is a method that allows bending of any material that conducts electricity. This technology applies a bending force to a material that has been locally heated-up by an eddy current induced by a fluctuating electromagnetic field. To ensure uniform heating without risk of overheating, the temperature is computer controlled and regulated by infrared cameras.

Induction bending allows to increase the radius of the bend quite seamlessly, bringing advantages such as better flow and reduced internal wear. Reduced operational costs can result from the reduction in pump force and lower maintenance costs because the bends will not need to be replaced as often.

NIRAS’ solutions can be tailored for cold and harsh conditions.
